Beekeeping Course - The guide to back garden Beekeeping
Discover how you might enjoy the craft of beekeeping and is back garden beekeeping right for you? This session will give you all the information you need before beginning on your own beekeeper journey. Gain insights into how to practise the craft without negatively impacting local pollinators and increasing your carbon footprint.
Tour our wild honeybee sanctuary and gain rare insights into how their plight causes global pollination problems.
This course is designed for adults who are interested in all things environmental with conservation at the heart of what we do. Our 2:30 hour class is for those with a keen interest and those who may just beginning their journey.
During this class, you will be shown the basics of traditional Beekeeping from a trained Beekeeping professional which will start with a small introduction before you put on the necessary Beekeeping PPE and take a look at a real-life hive we have here on site with a colony of bees inside.
We will provide the necessary bee-keeping PPE bee suit to use for the duration of the session. You will also receive a complimentary pot of Surrey Honey made from the Bees at the Surrey Honey Farms.
The interactive beekeeping experience begin at our environmental centre and include a short workshop on the conservation aspects of why we need to save and provide new homes for feral honeybee colonies that are traditionally know as swarms.
We discuss how become custodians of a natural asset and not only users of a food production process that is now being called into question more frequently.

We advise that this class is aimed at Adults or children 16 + with a keen interest for bees and beekeeping.
